Kids Wish Network granted a 6-year-old McKenna from Ohio her wish to go to Florida theme parks. McKenna’s mother, Connie, contacted the non-profit organization to create some good memories for her daughter, who already suffers two severe medical conditions.
The little girl was born 6 weeks early and diagnosed with two severe diseases – Epilepsy and Torticollis. Epilepsy causes her to have multiple seizures and Torticollis (or wry neck) resulted in her inability to use the left side of her body as a baby. But with the help of Kids Wish Network and funding specialist Megan, the family escaped from it all and had some fun, “away from the “real” world”, mom Connie said.
Vanessa, the Kids Wish Network coordinator, was working hard to create a great trip for the little girl. The family was given tickets to round-trip flights, to the Universal, Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, and well as some lovely evenings in the spectacular Royal Plaza Hotel. The foundation took care of everything, including dinners and other expenses for additional activities.
Mom Connie was extremely happy to see her daughter spending a nice quality time and having her wish come true. “It was amazing”, she said, “Her eyes lit up every time she saw a character.” Little McKenna loved the whole experience and was particularly fond of meeting Mickey Mouse, Connie added. Apparently, McKenna was so thrilled with her visit to the Florida theme parks that she wants to come back again and the family has already started saving change for their next trip.
