Group 2C Carley Bartlett, Ryan Powell, Antoniya Petkova, Jordan Muckley, Bashir Yusuf, Katherine Tysoe and Sarah Myers.
We are the lovely Group 2C! We have all analyzed our Cabinet of Curiosities and we found that there where not really similarities due to the interests and different cultural influences of each person. We as a group believe that coming from different backgrounds can contribute to the way that media can be perceived. This is shown by our Cabinet of Curiosities. We have a large collection of pieces ranging from music reviews and film reviews to gossip columns and even short films!
The general feeling from the group is that tabloid newspapers are generally misleading whereas the broadsheets are more informative and factual.
Cultural factors also played a key part in our Cabinet of Curiosities, for example, two of our group come from a very music-led background, yet, like totally different genres of music. This has possibly opened up each others’ eyes to their own genres of music.
Looking beyond the realms of your own perspective can always prove a difficult challenge, but it is a challenge that has to be overcome so one person’s media can be everybody’s media.Labels: tasks |
